THE COLD TRUTH ABOUT WINTER TIRES

Q: Do I really need to use winter tires?

A: Winter tires provide better traction and handling on ice, snow, and slush. We recommend them because they are far superior to all-season tires.

Q: How do they really work?

A: They are made with a softer rubber compound to provide a better grip on cold surfaces. Deeper treads push away snow and slush and offer better traction.

Q: When do I put on winter tires?

A: It is ill-advised to wait until winter and snow arrive. As soon as the weather forecast calls for the temperature to dip below 7°C, please make an appointment to change to winter tires in order to benefit from the increased traction, braking, and handling they provide.

Q: Why is it unsafe to use all-season tires during cold weather?

A: All-season tires severely lose grip at low temperatures. The change causes diminished traction, resulting in longer stopping distances, coupled with limited handling and cornering capability.
